Mike Hachey "Mikey" was born in Anaheim, CA, on January 29th, 1985. He has a sister Stephanie, who is nearly 3 years younger than him, and his parents are Pete and Cindy. He started showing interest in music around the age of 12, when he got his first keyboard for Christmas. Shortly after he began playing guitar and bought his first bass within a year at a local music shop. Soon after, him and a few friends from his high school (Loara High School in Anaheim) joined together and started a ska band. Members of this band included Derek and Luis, whom Mikey would coincidentally become band mates with years later in Suburban Legends.

Mikey attended Cal State Fullerton for 3 semesters majoring in music education and performance before joining Suburban Legends. Since he had been in the previous high school band, Derek was his "in" to audition with the band: he became a member shortly after. Mikey has been Suburban Legend's bassist since Nov/Dec of 2004. He sings backup vocals and occasionally plays keyboards with the band as well. He enjoys working at his current job at the Apple Store (alongside Derek), going on tour and traveling with the band, and teaching and performing music. He also enjoys a good meal and wine with friends and family.
